is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement

Ballet is by far the root of all dance.  It demands attitude, poise, grace, and most of all discipline.  It is a must for all who are interested in dance on a performing or competitive level.

is a dance style that combines elements of ballet, modern, and jazz dance techniques. It is commonly set to popular music with vocals or just instrumental bars. The name lyrical comes from the word "lyrics" because dancers use the lyrics of a song or instrumental music to inspire them to do certain movements or show expression. The goal of a lyrical dancer is to use gesture, facial expression, and controlled movements in order to execute their movements and emotions fully. Besides emotional connection to music, lyrical dance typically encourages use of articulation, line, weight, and movement qualities.
is a form of dance characterized by a tapping sound that is created from metal plates that are attached to both the ball and heel of the dancer's shoe. These metal plates, when tapped against a hard surface, create a percussive sound and as such the dancers are considered to be musicians.

is a social or choreographed dance style primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping.  What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle in nature.
is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.

Acro is a modern form of dance combining both the classic elements and techniques of dance with what is known as acrobatics.  The two together, compliment each other very well.  In fact, it is becoming quite popular to see these elements on many of the dance shows seen on television today.  Acro adds a variety to the dance art and aids the dancer with becoming stronger in all aspects, especially technique. It strengthens key muscles such as the core and legs, allowing one to jump higher and hold poses longer.  Strengthening the core also increase the balance one has while doing all dance techniques.  It forces one to broaden their range of motion, increasing one’s flexibility and agility, allowing the dancer to kick higher, stretch further, and turn faster.
